The Highests of Highs I tell Ya!

Mt Everest Coffee!

Well firstly let me start by saying it was my fault ... all my fault! The reason I did not post last week was due to me buying the wrong coffee, I bought 1kg of beans and not 250g of ground coffee. So that kind of set me back due to not having a grinder for the beans, but this week I am back on the bean (hey hey!) and ready to review another lovely coffee.

Alrighty people! Mt Everest coffee, this is definitely a new one for me. This coffee has such an inviting aroma to it, but my head it doesn't seem to think it should, but it does. Not to mention the smooth and almost perfect flavour combining with that inviting smell.

The Bitterness of this coffee is one that lingers on the tongue afterwards, making it feel bitter and dry, and to be honest this is probably the only bad thing about this coffee. The level of bitterness that lingers if you don't take another sip is stronger than most, but to achieve this level of flavour and aroma I guess something must be sacrificed. The Richness of this coffee is definitely one of the better ones I've tried, so full of flavour and smooth on the taste buds. It fills your mouth with this intense earthy, but yet smooth chocolaty taste, and it is absolutely beautiful. This would be a coffee for the average drinker looking for a pure coffee tasting coffee (I know that sounds odd but that's English for you).
The Aroma of this coffee is a strange one as I have said previously, it seems to make me want to drink it but yet when I take a good whiff I cant seem to understand why! It has such a strong earthy smell to it, which is a smell that I normally don't enjoy with coffee but this one is different. From the moment I opened the bag to the first sip, the smell was just pulling me in, making me want to just put my face in it. It is earthy, and it is fulfilling, and this continues after you have poured in the hot water which is something I love.

In honour of probably one of the best movies this year! BEANS ASSEMBLE!!!

Dark, Intense and Direct To The Bloodstream!

Cafédirect - Espresso (Dark and Intense)!

Well firstly welcome back after a relaxing and enjoyable Easter weekend. To start I thought that I deserved a break over the Easter holidays and hence why I didn't post on Easter Sunday, although that's not to say I didn't have this post ready to go (Cause I'm so organised.......). There was a lot of problems that got in the way of writing this post and it comes down to Easter, work and my amazing ability to forget certain things!

Moving on to the coffee and this weeks glorious choice is Cafédirect's Espresso Dark and Intense coffee. To my own surprise someone actually asked me to look at this ... I'm shocked as well (people actually read my blog, whoop whoop!). Espresso Dark and Intense is exactly what it says on the tin (or bag). On the front of the bag they have a number indicating the strength of the coffee, and to no shock this is rated 5 out of 5 on their scale. After having 1 cup of it, I can see it deserves that number, it is intense from the first moment you open the bag and get the strong, full bodied, fresh ground bean aroma to the moment you swallow that first intense and overpowering sip.

The Bitterness of this coffee doesn't really exist, you manage to get a hint of it after you swallow, like a lingering bitterness what soon disappears leaving the full flavour and richness of the coffee. This is the strange part of this coffee, it is so strong and so rich in flavour that the bitterness should be through the roof, but it isn't, it is there but not to the scale that I would expect for this type of coffee. The Richness of this coffee is where it wins all my praise! The fulfilling, intense, full bodied and fierce (enough adjectives) taste of this coffee, is enough to leave the tongue painting vivid images of it for days to come. The full flavour you get that fills your mouth really leaves you wanting more and more, while giving you the ever energetic feeling you were wanting when you poured the cup! This coffee ticks all my boxes and to be honest will be one I will buy again, although that being said, this coffee is for the intense (and when I say intense I mean like Belfast during a heatwave intense) taste loving coffee drinker.

Moving right along to the Aroma, which I have already described in the second paragraph, but for those skimming through I will describe it again. From the second you open the bag and lift it to your nose to take a big whiff, your senses are filled with this strong, full bodied and fresh ground bean Aroma. This smell continues to fill the room and radiate from the coffee once it has been mixed with the hot water and like a coffee shop smelling candle of pour ecstasy, it just makes you want to always have a full cup of the coffee beside you!

This looks like a very long post this week ... my bad! But we are finally at the end, and that means the SAO top guild ... KNIGHTS OF BEAN ... Have something to say!
