Rich, Dark and Intense!

Sumatra Coffee!

My apologies for the delay of my post this week, I had some problems over the weekend and was unable to get the post finished in time. So now that use all understand and don’t really care, let’s get on to the coffee of Indonesia! This coffee is completely different compared to the previous coffees, its taste is strong, the aroma is strong and my god the bitterness is strong!

This coffee has a strong lingering bitterness to it, the kind that when you have a cup of coffee you KNOW you’ve had a cup of coffee. The bitterness although strong and sometimes off putting in big gulps also combos well with the full bodied rich taste of the coffee. Even saying that, it’s hard to put you off. The rich and dark chocolatey taste fills your mouth long before the bitterness does, and it is absolutely delicious. This combination is why I love it, I’m a strong coffee lover and this taste appeals to me. But it isn’t to say that this taste is for everyone and that is why I have this blog, it is to allow people who have no idea or very little to hopefully find their preferred coffee.

Now moving on the aroma of this coffee which I’m going to make short and sweet. The smell of this coffee is exactly the same as it tastes, strong and bitter. After opening the bag and taking a big whiff it fills the senses with a strong overpowering coffee smell with some hint of bitterness to it, this continues while drinking. While taking sip after sip the coffee, the smell constantly radiates from it, drawing you in to take another drink.

Now on the topic of Jeremy Clarkson! Some say they are the savours of the universe.... and if you take too much ... that time slows down??? All we know, is their the BEANS!

Your Daily Roasting Station!

Oren's Daily Roast - Special Blend!

So this Wednesday’s special is an interesting one. A friend of mine at work was away in New York and I asked him if he wouldn’t mind bringing me back some local ground coffee. So while out at the Grand Central Market he found a lovely coffee stand offering a wide range of coffee beans, he explained to the owner about me and my blog and the guy gave him this coffee, his Special Blend. So Thank you Mark and I hope Oren's Daily Roast is pleased by this review (*nudge* *nudge*).

So now that all that (*slight* advertising) is done and out of the way, time to get down to the coffee. This coffee, to start off, is stronger than my previous coffee's and would be recommended for the more serious coffee loving fanatic. The coffee on the first mouthful boast a blast of intense flavour and bitterness which combos nicely into a delicious and refreshing wake up call. Although that being said it isn’t to bitter as to make it taste bad or leave a disgusting after taste, it seems to be just on power with the richness of the coffee. The coffee's full flavour isn’t without its smoothness either as once it reaches the back of the mouth as you swallow there is a smooth chocolatey taste that finishes it off.

The aroma of this bag to quote my work friend ("When I got home from the airport I opened my bag and there was just this wave of coffee"). This coffee has such a powerful aroma to it filling the room with the smell of roasted coffee (Heaven to me). The first thing I did was open the bag and take a whiff and to be honest I’m glad I did! This coffee even after pouring still maintains its aroma and power to fill a room with the smell of coffee.

Men are like coffee! The best ones are rich, hot, and can keep you up all night!

Colombian Coffee!

Now that I'm starting to get into the swing of writing these blogs, I’ve realised, I deserved that 'C' in my GCSE English. I am not of the writing level most bloggers are but I'm giving it my best shot! Just like Colombian coffee is doing. These coffee beans are considered to be the best in the world, they are not in my opinion, but they are putting up a good fight. The reason for all this is that once again people hear Colombian coffee and the hype alone makes you love it more than you should.

The coffee has this lovely smooth chocolaty flavour to it, making every mouthful a smooth and delightful one. This combos brilliantly with the fact that this coffee has very little to no bitterness to it, it’s not as good as Kopi Luwak but not far off. From the minute you take a mouthful and swirl it around your mouth (to get the full flavour) to the after taste the slight bitterness you get from this coffee is un-noticeable (unless you’re trying to taste it). The smooth combination this coffee brings out is definitely worth being praised for.

The blast of aroma you get from this bag alone (without it being opened) is unbelievable. The ground coffee beans radiate from the sealed bag, and when you open it you can’t help but stick your nose in it and take a big long sniff (If people were listening and couldn’t see they would think I was doing cocaine)! Once you get the water to mix with the ground beans the smell retreats and instead of radiating it becomes more secluded and condensed to the top of the coffee, this gives it a pulling effect every time you go to take a drink.

Now I know this blog is all about my opinion and I don’t honestly think this is the best coffee, but let’s hear what the council of BEANS has to say!
